It has been so lovely to come to Kent to see family and a real pleasure to stay in The Roost. So much thought and care has gone into making it a perfect place to stay. An amazingly comfy bed, great shower, clean and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need - just perfect! Many thanks to Tim and Carys for being such wonderfully considerate hosts.

The best holiday rental ever!!! 5/5

We stayed at the Roost for 2 months and could not have asked for a better place to spend our time in the UK. Carys and Tim were the greatest hosts and made us feel at completely at home. We loved our chats with Carys and Tim who are kind, warm and really the most perfect hosts. The Roost has everything we needed for a longer stay. We were warm and cozy and loved waking up on the farm! We loved the chickens, and looking out over the trees from the bedroom. We found it easy to get to Canterbury and loved the countryside strolls into Wingham! We could not recommend the Roost more. It has undoubtably been our favourite holiday stay and we will return again and again! The Roost is a great experience with the loviest hosts… we miss it all already!

Thank you Carys and Tim, what a wonderful find The Roost has been. You clearly put so much thought in providing everything needed for a holiday stay. We have really enjoyed our stay and thank you for the eggs, bread, butter etc that we found on our arrival. Such a help to have the basics and the eggs and tomatoes were delicious. Thank you for being great hosts. We have enjoyed exploring the area and walking both the downs and costal footpaths. We will be signing The Roost's praises to all family and friends heading to the area!

Following a family gathering in Canterbury, we came to The Roost to explore Kent. Thank you Carys and Tim for making us so welcome and for being so helpful. The breakfast box was fantastic and The Roost is such a lovely little place with everything you could possibly need. Good weather and great travel links to Canterbury and Sandwich so we could leave the car behind. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay!

A weekend at the Roost 4.8/5

We had a lovely long weekend at the Roost. We did have a bit of trouble turning down the thermostat of the central heating so Tim just turned it off for us. Everything else was great and its such a lovely touch having the milk, bread , cheese and eggs. A shame the hens weren't allowed out but it will be nice for them next week when they are allowed out.

A week in The Roost 4.8/5

Beautiful place to stay, out in the countryside so it’s a quiet area and away from the hustle of modern life. The hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. We were able to cook meals but you are close enough to go to some of the nearby pubs/restaurants. We were sad to leave. Thank you to Cary’s and Tim for a lovely stay

What a lovely place to stay you've made. We couldn't wish for anything better to spend our last 3 nights in the UK. The Roost has everything for a comfy stay! A lovely shower, bed and couch with a more than complete kitchen. Thank you for the more than warm welcome with wonderful tasty goodies. We enjoyed the chats and extra info about places to go. For us it was a place to get some rest after a long week working abroad. Who knows until next time, for sure we would love to come back again either for leisure or work.

What a lovely stay at The Roost. Just right for our 3 night stay could have stayed longer. So nice to see the chickens every morning and thank you for the eggs etc. Due to the hot weather we slept with the windows open and no noise apart from the birds in the morning. Very well equipped and a lovely comfy bed. Highly recommend.

Thank you for the superb accommodation. Spotlessly clean and well appointed and a really comfy bed. An ideal location for our daughters wedding at Preston Court plus we had the added bonus of being provided with the sweetest strawberries you will ever taste. Also the chickens were perfect neighbours.

You are superb hosts and it is such a quiet location, but with great access to the coast and Canterbury. Thank you for your hospitality, especially the bread, milk and eggs. Little items that really added to our stay. The property was so cleanand with all the facilities we needed. Thank you.

Stunning compact stylish retreat 5/5

From arrival to departure our hosts were simply lovely. The Roost is sparkling clean and yet cosy and welcoming with top notch furniture and all that you could need. Especially comfy bed! Fresh eggs from the resident hens were a lovely addition to food already provided We visited Wingham Animal Park for our first day, a perfect place for a few hours and possibly longer if you are meeting up with relatives and small children as there are plenty of activities and parks as well as a whole host of animals and a nice cafe. Much more reasonable than Howletts if you just want a few hours out. We had a trip into Canterbury to visit the many shops, the usual plus the unusual ! On Sunday we visited the cathedral. A few local walks added to a very relaxing away from it all stay.

10/10 A very comfortable and homely place to stay near Canterbury. + What a gem of a place for a short stay in the Canterbury area. My wife and I spent a week at the Roost after moving down from Manchester and waiting for our house to be ready to move into. The Roost is quite small, but well arranged and is perfectly comfortable enough for a couple for a week - or even more. The kitchen has everything that you need (full size oven and gas hob, plenty of pots and pans, microwave oven, dishwasher and Tassimo coffee maker - there is also access to a washing machine). The bed is comfortable with good quality bed linen and towels. There is a lovely little private paved patio for outdoor eating or tea time. The Roost is in a rural location, just outside Wingham village and a little off the main road, which makes it easy to get to Canterbury, either driving or on the bus (which runs regularly throughout the day and stops about 5 minutes walk from the Roost). Finally, Carys and Tim are such excellent hosts and I would thoroughly recommend the Roost to anybody! --

My perfect stay at the Roost 5/5

I stayed at the Roost for 6 months over the Winter as a short term let and it was perfect! It had everything I needed. It was light, open and cosy. It had a sweet private courtyard area to sit, a carpark space just outside, enough storage space and a smart TV. It was in a lovely quiet area, with access to some beautiful walks in the countryside. The hosts were very friendly and made sure I was well looked after. They also were very generous with free eggs and vegetables from their farm.

Lovely accommodation - ideal for a couple having a short break. Beautifully appointment, wonderful having more than enough good quality towels. Weather allowed us to sit outside and is ideal & perfect. Very welcoming host and so friendly. Having milk, cheese & eggs ready for us to use was a bonus. Heating was a bit tricky to use but we got the hang of it by the end of our stay. Would heartily recommend the Roost! Best of luck in the enterprise!!

Very privileged & pleased that my company booked me in to The Roost for a Monday to Friday stay instead of a hotel. The accommodation is extremely well presented, very clean and has everything you need to make a comfortable & relaxing stay. The courtyard area is private and colourful-when the weather is nice would be great to sit outside. The quality of the accommodation is excellent and the bedding & towels are are all very good quality. The host are very welcoming and want their guests to enjoy their stay. Fresh eggs from the garden were provided and I would definitely recommend a holiday stay here. 5 Star ratting from me.
