Within Canterbury’s old city walls and just moments from the High Street, The Linen House offers a well-placed base for enjoying the city on foot. Occupying the top floor of a period building on Castle Street, this comfortable Canterbury city centre apartment combines practical convenience with a location that puts shops, restaurants, green spaces, and historic landmarks all within easy reach.

The apartment is arranged across a single level, with an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space that works particularly well for short city stays, business trips, or weekends away with friends. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, including one en suite, make the layout especially useful for guests sharing, while the well-equipped kitchen and private off-road parking add a level of ease that can be hard to find in such a central location.

Canterbury East and West stations are both walkable, making arrival straightforward whether you are coming for a weekend break, an event, or a work trip. From here, you can easily spend the day exploring Canterbury Cathedral, browsing independent shops along the medieval streets, catching a show at the Marlowe Theatre, or taking to the water on a summer boat trip along the River Stour. Or, if you're staying a little longer, you can easily use this home as a springboard for venturing out to Kent's other outstanding areas – like Whitstable, Faversham, and the Kent Downs.

The Linen House flat review (no 3) 4.5/5

It was a very convenient flat to stay in during our stay in Canterbury. My relatives reside in and around the city, so ideal for visiting them. Thankfully, the weather was mild, but early morning and late evening would have been warmer if the heaters in main bedroom and en-suite could have been made to work. Otherwise, a delightful experience and location.

A great flat 4.8/5

It's a great flat. We love it and booked it for a second time. Only the "double" bed is a bit too small for Europeans. 😉 It is around 1,3 meter wide and, I guess, around 1,9m long. But nevertheless, I would still book this flat again, if we come back.

Would recommend as lovely little flat 4.5/5

Great location and well equipped, and great value for money, highly recommended only issue is on third floor with no lift, other than that perfect!

Canterbury has been foggy and misty like a Dickens novel during our visit. We have loved staying in this spacious flat, with its high spec kitchen, and its central location has meant we have been able to get a good feel for the city. It has been a wonderful winter stay.

Fantastic apartment in Canterbury 5/5

We stayed in the Linen House for the third time over the last 10 years or so. Every few years we like to spend some time in this beautiful city and the Linen House has proven to be a fantastic base from where we explore Canterbury and the Kentish countryside and visit the theatre and some of the many restaurants. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything we need. The two bathrooms are ideal when you are with four people. I wonder when our next visit will be...

This will be the 3rd time that we have stayed in this apartment over the past ten years. The Linen House truly feels like home now. We have had a fantastic week with walks in Kent, theatre visit, and nice dinners in restaurants in the city. This wont be our last visit ! Thank you again.

Charming and quiet central flat in Canterbury for a family 4.2/5

Excellent location for a family holiday and Canterbury and surroundings is a beautiful place to visit. The rooms and the dining and sitting room are spacious and comfortable, the place is quiet, there is a nice public garden just bellow . We just had problems with the hot water installation and couldn't use the bathrooms securely and comfortably. I suppose this can be mended and changed so that the place would be perfect. The attendent parking place is a much appreciated.

Top position 4/5

The house is located near the main point of interest of the city. The mattress are too soft, I couldn’t sleep cause there’s too much light entering from the windows. Only one key of the apartment is provided.

Stayed as was daughters graduation. Everywhere was so clean and had all the equipment we needed. Felt so comfortable and felt like home. Great location too, 5 minutes from the Cathedral so didn't have to walk far. Will definitely come again and will tell friends.
