What our guests really think

Idyllic stay perhaps a little pricey for what it is.   4.2/5
"This was a great little spot to have a break from the city. Everything you need to have a break - sit back and listen to the birds in a quiet spot, with an open fire in the evenings. Location wise, if you have a car - this is a lovely spot. Close to lots of walks and gardens and a short enough drive from the coast, namely whitstable which was a lovely place to visit. We were left to enjoy it with zero interruption which was perfect for our needs. We would say that value for money wise, we think slightly overpriced for the accommodation size/facilities."

Just as described   5/5
"The cottage was lovely, just as the description and pictures on the website. The owners were just next door so easy to get any help if needed. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Lovely few essentials (milk, butter, coffee, tea, sugar, bread and some dog treats too). Very comfortable bed. Quiet environment, just the birds. Would recommend the cottage. Just needs a little sign on the gate as it was a little obscure."

A cottage with lots of character   4.3/5
"A lovely cottage, full of character. Comfortable bed. Great shower & bath. Warm when log burner lit otherwise bit chilly and draughty. Thankyou for thoughtful provisions on arrival. A very peaceful location with dog walks from the door. A good base from which to explore the coast and Canterbury. Bit expensive for self catering accommodation but would definitely stay here again."

A perfect country cottage   4.8/5
"We enjoyed a lovely stay at Oast Barn cottage over the long Jubilee weekend, and couldn't have have a better time. The cottage is picture perfect, with a beautiful garden, lovely sun loungers, a table and chairs, and even a small barbecue. The garden gets the sun almost the whole day, which is wonderful. The cottage itself is incredibly cosy with a lovely log burner (not used by us), a really comfy bed and a great shower, the latter two being something which is important to us. The cottage is equipped with most things that you would expect and has a lovely, homely feel. Two very small criticisms would be that the wifi was poor for a lot of our stay, and because we were both having to work over the weekend, it did hinder our progress with getting things done and despite the booster boxes, it probably needs improving. The sofa was probably just a little bit small to get really comfy on and could probably do with being a touch bigger. Separately, the owner did not know that our pets were cats, despite us informing Bloom and asking them to check if cats were allowed, as we have found in other cottages that when pets are stipulated as being accepted, it usually just means dogs . The owner was very gracious and accepted the situation but I would have preferred she had been completely in the know. All that said, it would absolutely not prevent us from returning to Oast Barn cottage as we have come back to London with fabulous memories of a great weekend."

"A great few days break after the hectic festivities. We really enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage. So snug and comfy, the fire was great on a cold winters evening. The Red Lion at Badlesmere was lovely, all food gluten free but you would never know! Wonderful walks on Oare Marshes and Blean woods. Thank you so much for the warm welcome, the hamper and for letting us stay in this beautiful spot."

"Beautifully furnished cottage in peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed some relaxing days, and a great host. Whilst we were here we visited Canterbury which was very charming, Joss Bay and Broadstairs which were very pretty. We ate at The Plough and The Red Lion, both serving good quality good food. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, would very much recommend to others. Thank you."

We spent a happy day walking the North Downs Way with lunch outside The Plough. Also revisited Faversham and Whitstable (relieving memories!) "We had originally booked this cute cottage for our wedding night, however due to Covid our wedding was postponed. We decided to keep the cottage for a weekend away and what a great decision this was. So much character in a quiet, peaceful location, just the break we needed. We made use of the log burner which added to the cosiness of the atmosphere, and would like to thank you for a fantastic break away."

"Lovely cottage in a lovely location, lovely weather to enjoy our week back in Kent after being here in March, and then Covid hitting and causing our week to be cut short. It has been nice to explore the places we didn't get to visit then. Thanks for letting us stay, and for the hamper. We will be returning again. PS Jasmine (our dog) loved the garden!"
Denise, Trevor & Jasmine  |  3 August 2020
"The cottage was booked about a year ago to coincide with the Golf Open at Royal Sandwich. Then Covid hit, the golf was put back a year and we wer left wondering whether to cancel. We decided to come and have enjoyed our first post-lockdown holiday. Good to get away from crowded urban streets. Enjoyed the quiet Downs countryside, Belmont Gardens are spectacular. Faversham itself is both quaint and vibrant. Can't wait to get back to Kent next year!"
