HEAVILY REDUCED MIDWEEK STAYS (selected dates available)

Right on the banks of Faversham Creek, Customs House has a rather special setting – and a history to match. Built in 1850 to collect duties on goods arriving through the Thames Estuary, the building has played its part in Faversham’s maritime history for generations. Today, it’s a remarkable waterfront property for large groups, with the water still very much part of the experience.

Wake up to boats moving along the creek, then wander down to Standard Quay to see what's happening. It's here you'll find antique shops and cafés alongside a collection of traditional barges, fishing boats and historic vessels. And Faversham itself is just a short walk away, with plenty of independent shops, pubs and places to eat.

There’s room for everyone inside Customs House, too. Set over three floors, the home has ten bedrooms – six king-size rooms, three twins and a sitting room with a double sofa bed – along with five shower rooms. The main kitchen and dining space is split over two levels, and there's also plenty of dining space outside, should you wish to take your meals al fresco on the patio.

There’s a separate sitting room for quieter moments, with comfortable sofas, a gas wood burner and Smart TV. And with circular walks leading from the area, you can easily spend a morning exploring the creek and surrounding countryside before returning to the house for the afternoon.

For a large-group holiday in Kent, it’s hard to imagine a more interesting setting. Customs House combines the character of an important old building with all the space and comforts you need for a modern stay – located right beside one of Faversham’s most distinctive corners.
