An imposing period property built in the style of a South African homestead with Dutch gables and many unusual features and lovely details. Beadles is a beautiful house which has been a much loved family home and is perfect for a big family gathering. There is a ground floor annexe for those who don't want to negotiate stairs, or who want a little privacy away from the rest of the party. The elegant panelled dining room with a serving hatch through to the kitchen will comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests and would be wonderful for a special occasion. There is a large kitchen complete with a gas aga (plus 2 additional electric ovens) and small dining table leading into a cosy breakfast room with a comfy sofa and chair. The traditionally styled billiards room has a competition size snooker table, plenty of games, plus a large sofa and an open fireplace and doors leading to a small patio in the garden. For the young children there is also a playroom on the ground floor with lots of toys to keep them happy, not to mention the large garden which is all enclosed and even has 2 additional little 'secret gardens' so hide and seek is a must. At the end of the day relax with a sundowner on the balcony overlooking the championship golf course, or curl up in the drawing room in front of a roaring log fire.

In the Area

With the world famous Royal St. George's and Prince's golf courses on the doorstep this is a wonderful spot for golfers. The wild pebble beach of Sandwich Bay is just 300 yards from the house and is fringed with grasses and flowers in the spring and summer. Take a walk along the public footpath across the golf course to medieval Sandwich, where you will find plenty of cafes, restaurants and independent shops amidst the winding streets. Alternatively for some traditional seaside fun, hop on a bike and take the ancient highway to Deal for ice cream on the pier or a visit to the castle. Sandwich Bay bird observatory is just around the corner and offers wildlife walks, evening strolls, and informative talks for nature and wildlife lovers.

Beautiful Beadles 4.3/5

A big family gathering, 9 adults and 5 kids and the house was absolutely perfect for all of us. So many different rooms to hang out in, a huge garden to run around in, a big kitchen to hang and cook, I would say that the kitchen is missing some key utensils but I spoke to the house manager about that. Walking distance to the beach was perfect too. We all had a great stay and would love to visit again.

Wonderful house and home 5/5

No words I can write will really express how wonderful our stay was. A three generation group to celebrate my 70th birthday who all found the house perfect for our long weekend. The Bay has always been a family favourite as I was born in Sandwich and although left at 19, have returned over many years for holidays with family or just a quick visit. There were wonderful memories for us, the house being my favourite of all at the Bay and couldn't believe my luck that I could rent this beautiful place for a holiday. Thank you to the Clive family for sharing what is the most charming home and felt like home to all of us.

Stunning seaside country house on the golf course. You're going to love this house! Stunning architecture, wood paneled rooms, games room, huge kitchen, beautiful gardens, playroom with lots of toys, on the golf course, cozy nooks and crannies, really comfortable beds, well heated. What more can we say...quite a lot actually! There are so many great features to this house, with the guest wing on the ground floor, huge dining room and kitchen and a games room with a full sized billiard table this is an ideal multi-family or multi-generational gathering house. Sundowners on the terrace overlooking the fourth hole are a must, as are cosy evenings by the open fires and BBQs in the garden. Only 300 yards from the beach and on the world famous Royal St George's Golf Course, not to mention inside a private gated community so very safe for the children, this location is unbeatable. Wonderful walks right on your doorstep and so much to do nearby: gardens, beaches, castles, nature, walks, golf, fishing, bike rides. Can't fault it, will be back. A LOT!

Elegant country home in golfer paradise. This is a golfer's dream house, overlooking the 4th green at the magisterial Royal St. George's, site of the 2020 Open--and an easy walk down undulating links fairways to the clubhouse. A few minutes away to the north and south are two other splendid links courses along Sandwich Bay--Prince's and Royal Cinque Ports, both of which hosted The Open before World War II and remain Final Open Qualifying venues. Beadles is both elegant and practical, a classic English country home with modern amenities. It offered more than enough room for our foursome, and could easily accommodate two foursomes. It would be well worth a stay even without its golfing opportunities. The charming town of Sandwich is a five-minute drive and offers a variety of moderately-priced dining choices. And don't miss The Rose, a superb restaurant in the seaside town of Deal, a ten-minute drive. Visited in October 2019.

Magnificent house! A golf and beach lovers dream. Perfect location in Sandwich, one of the few houses right on Royal St Georges, close to the beach and town. Immaculately maintained, beautiful gardens, owner was very accommodating to all our needs. Highly recommend for anyone exploring Kent at any time of the year.

A fantastic house for a vacation. The location was amazing, quiet, peaceful and totally secure. It was Ideal for all forms of sports activities especially golf and water sports which we enjoyed. The house was clean, bright, cosy and very comfortable it had everything we wished for. All the rooms were spacious and well kept. There were some fantastic eateries locally that had ample parking if you drove especially for handicapped. The area provides breathtaking scenery which we thoroughly enjoyed whilst walking the dog. We will definitely be returning to this unbelievable property in the future.
