In the Area

Lazy days will drift by as lovebirds enjoy the view from this amazing retreat. For those who want to explore you can walk to Folkestone along the clifftops. The Warren beach offers cockles and winkles and crabbing catching and can be enjoyed before your journey back home. Folkestone is home to the Sunny Sands, a small but lovely light sandy beach, with arches that go back to Victorian times. The beach can be enjoyed at varying points to see the tides as they draw right up to the arches and reach back out far into the bay. The harbour offers a choice of eateries, cafes and ice cream shop as well as the renowned Rocksalt wine bar and restaurant (bookings are a must!) The new Harbour arm is a walk back in time to see and experience life in war time when the troops were collected by ships to sail into battle. The entire Dover to Folkestone coast is packed with war time history. Today the arm is full of trendy street stall cafes, wine bars and entertainment. The old high street and the creative quarter welcomes you to some trendy shops and art galleries. With so much in Folkestone to enjoy you will have a jam packed weekend and for those looking to see more the neighbouring town of Hythe has the miniature railway, the military canal with romantic boat hire and Port Lympne animal reserve park. You can watch the weather change from the inside La Vue, and get great views of the storms and windy seas!

Folkestone is located by the Eurotunnel in Cheriton and also the Dover docks - both within 15 minutes drive from La Vue. London is less than 1.5 hours drive away and trains go in to Ashford International directly then taxi or into Folkestone Central.

What about the extra bits to complete your break away?

This place is something very special, unforgettable. One of the nicest stays we have ever had, so unique and highly recommended.

This place is incredible. The view is amazing and photos don't do it justice. You can enjoy the outside in front of the airstream (there is a little fireplace) and on the outside benches. In good weather we sunbaked on the lounges and had a bbq. Inside is also wonderful. Great Bose speakers, a tv, soft bedding and towels and a really comfortable bed! Lots of heating (indoor fireplace and heater) for winter and fan for summer. Nice touches - prosecco, milk, cookies, tea and coffee. Kitchen is well-prepped and wifi is strong. Bathroom is also great with a good shower. We had a couple of mishaps, such as the outside lights blowing the fuse, but Steve organised an electrician to fix it a couple days later. We also did the 1.5 hour cliff walk (downhill) to Folkestone which was fun. Just be ware it's not very easy to get a cab back at night! Steve was really handy and let us borrow a salad bowl when we needed it. Wonderful and peaceful. Would definitely go back!

When the sun comes out this wonderful place is astonishing and you won’t want to move from the cliff patio. The airstream is lovingly furnished and sofa and bed are both very comfortable. The walk along the cliff into Folkestone is well worth doing. We stayed for 2 nights and loved it.

La Vue is the PERFECT retreat for couples! Steve was very friendly and quick to answer if we had any questions. The Air stream was very comfy and cozy, especially on a rainy evening with the fire on! We loved exploring the local area but the views from the outdoors were amazing to come back to in the afternoon! A truly amazing stay - we will definitely be back!
